AUTHORITIES have arrested four suspects as they dismantled a drug den in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga Sibugay province, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said Friday, July 18, 2025.
The PDEA-Zamboanga Peninsula identified the arrested suspects through their aliases as follows: Gabriel, 21; Mycho, 21; Jherime, 18; and Mark, 20. The first three suspects are also students and the fourth is a mechanic.
The government operatives, armed with a search warrant issued by a court, swooped down the drug den in Purok Young Dreamers, Taway village, Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay, around 12:05 p.m. Thursday, July 17, that resulted to the arrest of the four suspects.
Seized during the search warrant operation were some 15 grams of suspected shabu packed in nine heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets worth P102,000, and several illegal drugs paraphernalia.
The suspects will be charged four violations of Sections 6 (Maintenance of a Drug Den), 7 (Employees and Visitors of a Drug Den), 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), and 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia) of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The search warrant operation was a coordinated effort carried out by the PDEA-Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Office, in partnership with the Zamboanga Sibugay Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit, Ipil Municipal Police Station, and troops of the Army’s 106th Infantry Battalion. (SunStar Zamboanga)
