THE 64th Infantry Battalion (64IB) has conducted a Change of Command Ceremony, designating a new commander for its Alpha Company based in Padas, Pagayawan, Lanao del Sur.
Designated as the new commander of 64IB’s Alpha Company is First Lieutenant Rewine Degorio, who replaced Captain Dionisio Padillon Jr.
The Change of Command Ceremony was held on Friday, May 30, at the Alpha Company headquarters in Padas village, Pagayawan.
Lieutenant Colonel Abel Potutan, 64IB commander, presided over the ceremony, a time-honored military tradition that formally signifies the transfer of responsibility, authority, and accountability from one commanding officer to another.
Potutan recognized Padillon for his exemplary leadership and dedication to the soldiers of Alpha Company, where he oversaw the unit’s development and operational readiness.
Potutan noted that Alpha Company, under the command of Padillon, demonstrated exceptional discipline, operational excellence, and a commitment to the values they uphold as soldiers.
“Your leadership has inspired confidence, fostered cohesion, and ensured that Alpha Company remained combat-ready and mission-focused at all times, without setting aside the morale and welfare of the troops,” he said.
He challenged Degorio to maintain or even surpass the standard set by Padillon.
Degorio expressed gratitude and readiness for the new role and pledged to uphold the strong legacy of leadership, reinforcing the values of discipline, teamwork, and excellence within the company. (SunStar Zamboanga)
