THE Philippine Army, as part of its 128th Anniversary celebration, has distributed combat clothing and individual equipment (CCIE) to Civilian Active Auxiliaries (CAA) based in patrol bases in the remote areas in Basilan province.
Brigadier General Alvin Luzon, commander of the Army’s 101st Infantry Brigade (101Bde), led the ceremonial distribution on Thursday, March 13, to the CAAs.
Luzon was assisted by the battalion commanders who have jurisdiction over the patrol bases in the remote areas in Basilan province.
The Philippine Army is celebrating its 128th anniversary on March 22.
The 101Bde said the distribution included new uniforms, combat boots, caps, and personal hygiene kits, symbolizing the Army’s appreciation for the dedication and sacrifices of these unsung heroes—CAAs.
The recipient CAAs of the CCIE are assigned to Dugaa and Magpantay patrol bases in Lamitan City; Bohe Lebong and Bohe Baca patrol bases in Ungkaya Pukan; Pintasan patrol base in Hadji Mohammad Ajul; and, in Mahatallang and Marang patrol bases in Sumisip.
“We are honored to provide our valued CAAs with the resources they need to perform their duties with pride and confidence. The distribution signifies our commitment to your welfare and our gratitude for your service, which has greatly contributed to peace and order in Basilan,” Luzon said in a statement.
He said the distribution of CCIE underscores the Philippine Army’s enduring commitment to recognizing the contributions of the CAAs whose selfless service continues to safeguard the security and prosperity of the nation. (SunStar Zamboanga)
