THE Zamboanga City Government inaugurated on Tuesday afternoon, February 18, 2025, the first batch of 10-unit dump trucks that were purchased to enhance waste management and sanitation in the city.
Mayor John Dalipe led the turnover of the dump trucks after the blessing rites officiated by Fr. Jose Filmore Calibo in front of City Hall.
Dalipe said the 10 units, worth P5.9 million each, comprise the first batch of 45 units the City Government will purchase to help address garbage collection and management.
Dalipe said the additional 35 units that are yet to be delivered will be distributed to the villages facing significant garbage collection.
The mayor said the purchase of the dump trucks is in line with the goal of the city to improve sanitation services by increasing waste collection efficiency.
He said the purchase of the new dump trucks will enable the Office of the City Environment and Natural Resources to cover more areas, contributing to a cleaner, healthier City. (SunStar Zamboanga)
