THE Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of a P50-million road project providing a boost to the tourism industry of Liloy, known as the “Peanut Capital of Zamboanga del Norte.”
The DPWH-Zamboanga Peninsula said the newly completed project, a 2.4-kilometer, two-lane concrete road, leads to Love’s Beach and Pangpang Beach, both popular tourist destinations in the town of Liloy.
The completion of the road project enhances transportation and accessibility to the two popular tourist destinations.
“With the improved road infrastructure, the public can now enjoy faster, safer, and more comfortable travel leading to these key tourist destinations in Liloy,” the DPWH-Zamboanga Peninsula said in a statement.
“This accomplishment supports the Department’s Build Better More initiative, contributing to local economic growth through strategic infrastructure development,” the DPWH-Zamboanga Peninsula added.
The P50-million convergence project between the Department of Tourism and DPWH was funded under the General Appropriations Act of 2024.
The project was implemented by the DPWH Third District Engineering Office in Zamboanga del Norte. (SunStar Zamboanga)
