
AUTHORITIES have arrested one person and seized over P1 million worth of illegal drugs in an anti-drug operation in Zamboanga City, the police said Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
Captain Royland Cordero, chief of the local police’s City Drug Enforcement Unit, identified the arrested suspect as alias Bernardo Jr., 47 years old and a resident of Camino Nuevo village, Zamboanga City.
Cordero said Bernardo was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 10:36 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, on Aquino Drive, Canelar village, Zamboanga City.
He said seized from Bernardo were 150 grams of suspected shabu worth P1,020,000, a bundle of 44 pieces boodle money topped with one genuine P1,000 marked money and a driver’s license.
Cordero said the arrested suspect was detained at the Zamboanga City Police Station 11 pending the filing of a case against him for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
He said the buy-bust operation was launched following a series of surveillance on the illegal drug activities of the arrested suspect. (SunStar Zamboanga)
