THE Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) is set to conduct a general draw lots activity on Monday, June 9, 2025, to determine the specific lot assignments of the 342 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) in Isabela City, Basilan province.
The 342 ARBs of the Latuan Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Cooperative (Larbenco) have unanimously approved in support of individual land titling in a general assembly in Baluno, Isabela City on Wednesday, June 4.
The ARBs formally approved during the general assembly the parcelization of their landholding under the DAR's Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling (Split) Project.
DAR-Zamboanga Peninsula said each beneficiary is expected to receive 2.3 hectares during the general draw lots activity on June 9.
During the general assembly presided by Antonio Martalla, chair of Larbenco Board, the ARBs confirmed the manner of parcelization through draw lots with clustering.
DAR-Zamboanga Peninsula said that 10 clusters have already been formed, with 220 members voting in favor of the clustering scheme.
DAR-Zamboanga Peninsula said that in support of cooperative sustainability, the members also affirmed their commitment to retain and strengthen Larbenco, with 216 votes in favor of maintaining membership and complying with agrarian laws, particularly the prohibition against unauthorized sale or transfer of awarded lands.
Romulus Perez, OIC-chief Agrarian Reform Program Officer for Program Beneficiaries Development Division, has assured the ARBs of continuing DAR assistance in the form of capacity development and support services to further enhance the productivity and sustainability of Larbenco in its post-parcelization phase.
DAR-Zamboanga Peninsula said this development marked a significant milestone in the journey of ARBs toward individual land ownership while reaffirming their collective commitment to the cooperative's growth and resilience. (SunStar Zamboanga)
