
THE Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed the construction of a P14 million school building project in an east coast village in Zamboanga City.
The DPWH-Zamboanga Peninsula said Thursday, January 16, 2025, the two-storey four-classroom school building project was constructed at the elementary school in Tolosa village, 23 kilometers east of Zamboanga City.
The DPWH said the newly constructed school building has a total area of 218.5 square meters per floor with four restrooms for students, teachers and persons with disabilities.
The DPWH said each classrooms is fully equipped with a blackboard, electric fan, and 90.20 linear meters covered path walk.
The building also has an overhead water tank and cistern tank for a reliable water supply and handwashing station for hygiene purposes, according to the DPWH-Zamboanga Peninsula.
“This project prioritizes safety, quality and standards to ensure a sustainable learning environment for the students,” the DPWH-Zamboanga Peninsula said in a statement.
The project was constructed by the DPWH Second District Engineering Office in Zamboanga City. (SunStar Zamboanga)
