Gil Cesario Castro, director of PDEA in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Barmm), identified the arrested suspects as alias Alin, 45, the drug den maintainer.
Castro said two of Alin's arrested patrons were identified as aliases Al and the rest are aliases Son, Ben, Alex, Sam, Moh, Fai, Dar, and Lyka.
Castro said the suspects were arrested in a buy-bust that resulted in the dismantling of a drug den on Monday, February 17, in Kagay village, Indanan, Sulu.
Seized from the dismantled drug den were 10 grams of shabu worth P68,000, five grams of dried marijuana leaves, buy-bust money, various illegal drug paraphernalia, and a mobile phone.
The suspects were detained at the police headquarters of Indanan Municipal Police Station in preparation for the filing of case against them for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Castro said the anti-drug operation was launched by PDEA agents backed by police operatives.
He added that the anti-drug operation underscores the continued efforts of law enforcement agencies to combat illegal drug activities in the region. (SunStar Zamboanga)
