Drug den dismantled in Sulu

AUTHORITIES have dismantled a drug den and arrested six suspects in an anti-drug operation in the province of Sulu, an official said Sunday, July 6, 2025.

Gil Cesario Castro, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-Barmm) director, identified the arrested suspects as alias Al, 32, drug den operator; alias Key, 19, student; alias Jan, 39, tricycle driver; alias Dars, 40, tricycle driver; alias Ben, 52; and alias Linja, 35, laborer.

Castro said the suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation around 2:30 p.m. Friday, July 4, in Barangay Bato-Bato, Indanan, Sulu.

Castro said seized during the anti-drug operation were some 20 grams of suspected shabu worth P136,000, various drug paraphernalia, a mobile phone, and marked money.

He said the suspects were detained and will be charged for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).

Castro said the anti-drug operation was launched by the operatives of PDEA-Sulu Provincial Office with the support of various law enforcement agencies. (SunStar Zamboanga)
