THE Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) is soon to inaugurate and turn over three projects worth P7.7 million to the City Government of Isabela, Basilan province.

The DSWD-Zamboanga Peninsula said Wednesday, June 4, 2025, that the projects include the Alternative Learning Facility in Tampalan, and multipurpose building in Diki, both in Malamawi Island, and concrete footbridge in Kaumpurnah Zone 3 village.

The DSWD-Zamboanga Peninsula implemented the three projects through the agency's Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (Kalahi-Cidss) program.

The DSWD-Zamboanga Peninsula said the three projects are designed to address local needs through community-led initiatives.

A multi-sectoral inspection team conducted a thorough assessment of the projects in Kaumpurnah Zone 3 and Diki villages on Tuesday, June 3.

The inspection was aimed to evaluate project progress and compliance with program standards, ensure proper utilization of public funds in line with transparency and accountability measures, and engage community stakeholders in participatory governance.

The DSWD-Zamboanga Peninsula said the collaborative effort underscores the importance of multi-sectoral oversight in safeguarding public resources while ensuring that community projects deliver tangible benefits to residents. (SunStar Zamboanga)
