THE Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Mafar-Barmm) has provided farm inputs and capacity-building support to over 100 farmers in the province of Sulu.

Mafar-Barmm said the distribution of farm inputs and training activity were held Wednesday, July 23, in Punay village, Panglima Estino, Sulu.

The farmers from 12 villages of Panglima Estino received hybrid corn seeds, assorted vegetable seeds, mung beans, and both organic and inorganic fertilizers.

The activity also included an orientation on Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) aimed at improving crop yields and promoting sustainable farming.

“This initiative aimed to provide direct support to local farmers and promote sustainable and responsible farming practices,” Mafar-Barmm said in a statement.

On July 15, Mafar-Sulu trained 25 Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs) on organizational development and strengthening.

The participants are members of the Duhol Panducan Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organization (Arbo) in the municipality of Pangutaran.

The training, held in Panducan village, Pangutaran, equipped local ARBs with essential skills for effective organizational management and long-term development.

Arbos are regarded as crucial government partners in delivering rural development, promoting food security, and strengthening the agricultural sector. (SunStar Zamboanga)
