THE 1102nd Infantry “Ganarul” Brigade (1102Bde) obtained the highest Annual General Inspection (AGI) rating of 98.04 percent, emerging as the top-performing unit of the 11th Infantry Division (11ID).
With the achievement, the 1102Bde earned an “Excellent” rating among all evaluated units of the 11ID.
Major General Leonardo Peña, 11ID commander, together with key officers of the division, formally presented the recognition during the Monday Flag Raising and Awarding Ceremony Monday, August 24, at the Alakdan Covered Court in Kuta General Teodulfo Baustista that houses the headquarters 11ID in Busbus, Jolo, Sulu.
Colonel Alex Gagula, 1102Bde deputy commander, received the Certificate of Recognition on behalf of Brigadier General Alaric Avelino Delos Santos, 1102Bde commander.
The 1102Bde said the 98.04 percent rating was the highest among the 14 units evaluated during the AGI Current Year 2026, covering unit performance from the first to the fourth quarter of Current Year 2025.
The assessment recognized the hard work, dedication, operational effectiveness, administrative efficiency, and exemplary performance of units under the 11ID.
Meanwhile, Delos Santos attributed the accomplishment to the collective commitment of every 1102Bde trooper and the Brigade’s subordinate units to consistently uphold high standards in mission accomplishment and organizational readiness.
“This recognition belongs to every officer, enlisted personnel, and civilian human resource of the Ganarul Brigade. Our 98.04-percent rating reflects our shared discipline, dedication, and commitment to excellence,” Delos Santos said in a statement.
“For us in Ganarul, excellence is not merely a standard to achieve; it is a way of life. We will continue to raise the bar as we fulfill our mission of securing the people and sustaining the peace in Sulu,” he added.
He said the recognition further reinforces the 1102Bde’s commitment to maintaining a mission-ready, disciplined, professional, and high-performing organization, while continuously strengthening its operational and administrative capabilities in support of the 11ID and the Philippine Army’s transformation toward a world-class, multi-mission-ready, and cross-domain-capable.
