
THE 1102nd Infantry "Ganarul" Brigade (1102Bde), in partnership with the Municipal Government and local community, conducted a cleanliness drive in Luuk, Sulu, the military said Monday, February 10, 2025.
Brigadier General Alaric Avelino Delos Santos, 1102Bde commander, said the cleanliness drive they conducted on Saturday, February 8, aimed at promoting a healthier and more sustainable environment.
Delos Santos said the activity focused on collecting trash, clearing drainage systems, and promoting proper waste disposal practices.
"This cleanliness drive demonstrates our commitment to supporting the community and promoting a cleaner, greener environment. We are proud to work alongside the people of Luuk in this initiative," Delos Santos said in a statement.
Delos Santos noted that the activity was well-received by the community, with many residents expressing their appreciation for the military's efforts in promoting cleanliness and environmental awareness.
He said the cleanliness drive is part of the military's ongoing efforts to engage with local communities and promote peace and development in the province.
The cleanliness drive brought together soldiers from the 1102Bde, 101st Infantry Battalion, and 2nd Civil-Military Operations Company, Philippine Coast Guard, Bureau of Fire Protection along with local officials and residents.
They worked hand-in-hand to clean up streets, markets, and public spaces. (SunStar Zamboanga)
