AUTHORITIES have arrested a high-value suspect and seized firearm, explosive, and illegal drugs in a law enforcement operation in Zamboanga City, the police said Monday, April 21, 2025.
Police Colonel Fidel Fortaleza, Jr., Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) director, identified the arrested high-value suspect as alias Jing, of legal age.
Fortaleza said Jing was arrested in a law enforcement operation by way of service of search warrant around 10:30 p.m. Sunday, April 20, in Mampang village, Zamboanga City.
Fortaleza said seized from the suspect’s possession were a caliber .45 pistol with inserted magazine containing three live ammunition, a grenade concealed in a black pouch, a gram of suspected shabu worth P6,800, and a digital weighing scale, commonly used in the repacking and distribution of illegal drugs.
He said the suspect will be charged for violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The search warrant was implemented by the personnel of the Zamboanga City Police Station 6.
Fortaleza said the ZCPO remains steadfast in its mission to uphold the law and ensure a safe and drug-free community for all Zamboangueños. (SunStar Zamboanga)
