AUTHORITIES have arrested a known drug suspect and seized approximately P533,256 worth of illegal drugs in an anti-drug operation in Lanao del Sur, police said Saturday, June 28, 2025.
Pending further investigation, Police Colonel Caezar Cabuhat, Lanao del Sur police director, withheld the identity of the arrested individual, who is tagged as a high-value individual (HVI).
Cabuhat said the HVI suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 8:30 a.m., Saturday, June 28, in Madalum, Lanao del Sur.
Seized from the suspect were some 78.42 grams of suspected shabu packed in five heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets worth P533,256, a waist bag, 29 pieces of photocopied P500 bills topped with one genuine P500 bill as buy-bust money, and an identification card.
He said the suspect and the confiscated pieces of evidence were placed under the custody of the Madalum Municipal Police Station for proper documentation and the filing of charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
He commended the joint operatives of the Lanao del Sur Provincial Police Office and supporting units for the successful arrest of the HVI drug personality in Madalum. (SunStar Zamboanga)
