AUTHORITIES have seized over P1 million worth of illegal drugs as they arrested a high-value target (HVT) in an intelligence-driven anti-drug operation in Maguindanao del Norte, the police said Monday, May 26, 2025.
Huy Police Brigadier General Romeo Macapaz, Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (Pro-Bar) director, said the suspect, alias Soy, was arrested in a buy-bust operation on Friday, May 23, in Kabuntalan village, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte.
“The suspect was caught selling illegal drugs to an undercover police officer acting as a poseur buyer,” Macapaz said in a statement.
Macapaz said a cohort of the arrested suspect identified as alias Bro managed to escape aboard a motorcycle.
He said seized from the arrested suspect were some 150 grams of suspected shabu packed in three plastic sachets worth P1,020,000, buy-bust money, and a mobile phone believed to be used in illegal drug transactions.
He said charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the arrested suspect.
The operation was carried out through the intelligence-driven collaboration of the different police units in Maguindanao del Norte.
“This operation underscores the dedication and vigilance of our personnel in the fight against the drug menace in the region,” Macapaz said. (SunStar Zamboanga)
