Intruder kills driver

A 38-YEAR-OLD driver was killed in a gun attack by an intruder in an east coast village of Zamboanga City, the police said on Monday, April 7, 2025.

The Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) identified the victim as Raybie Tambiga, 38, a resident of Zone 4, Arcillas Drive, Mercedes Village, located 12.75 kilometers east of the city proper.

According to the ZCPO, the incident occurred around 9 p.m. on Sunday, April 6, at Tambiga's boarding house on Zone 4, Arcillas Drive, Mercedes Village.

Investigations revealed that the victim was inside his boarding house when a gunman forced his way in and shot Tambiga.

The police said Tambiga managed to run and hide in the comfort room, but the suspect followed him and shot him again, causing his immediate death.

Authorities recovered four empty shells from a 9-millimeter pistol at the crime scene.

The police stated that the investigation is ongoing to determine the motive and identify the suspect behind the incident. (SunStar Philippines)
