11 arrested in anti-drugs operations

ZAMBOANGA police arrested 11 drug personalities in separate anti-drugs operations, an official announced Monday, December 23.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said the arrested suspects are: Clarita Narag, 50; Ritchel Regalario, 53; Ronnie Escalicas, 30; Rowie Escalicas, 24; Raffy Mustala, 31; Ibrahim Nonnong, 54; Roel Montejo, 40; Marki Napalcruz, 27; Radzaid Paraja, 19; Munjir Muksan, 25; and, Richie Manuel, 40.

Galvez said the first six of the 11 suspects were caught in possession of some P10,000 worth of suspected “shabu” when arrested Sunday, December 22, in a drug bust in the village of Sta. Catalina.

Recovered from the suspects was P200 marked money aside from the suspected “shabu” packed in 11 heat-sealed plastic sachets.

Galvez said Montejo and Napalcruz were arrested Sunday, December 22, in a drug bust by the SDET of Police Station four in the village of Boalan.

She said the two, who are both drivers, were caught in possession of some P34,000 worth of illegal substance packed in 21 heat-sealed plastic sachets and P400 marked money.

Paraja, Muksan, and Manuel were arrested Sunday, also in a buy-bust operation, by the SDET operatives of the Police Station 10 in the village of Talon-Talon.

Seized from them were some P3,500 worth of suspected shabu and P200 marked money.

She said appropriate charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are set to be filed against the suspects, who are detained. (SunStar Zamboanga)
