

THE Philippine Navy has initiated changes in the leadership of the 1st Boat Attack Division (BAD) based in Zamboanga City.
The Change of Command Ceremony was held on Friday, May 5, 2023, at the Officer's Club of the Naval Station Romulo Espaldon in Zamboanga City with Rear Admiral Donn Anthony Miraflor, Naval Forces Western Mindanao (NFWM) commander, as the presiding officer.
Miraflor awarded the Bronze Cross Medal to Commander Kenneth Lozañes, the outgoing commander, for his exceptional services and contributions as he led the 1st BAD in achieving all the given tasks in line with the command's mission.
Lozañes handed over his command to Commander Julius Tuttoh, the incoming commanding officer of the 1st BAD.
"Let me express our heartfelt gratitude to our honorees today. To Commander Lozañes, this command bids you fair winds, clear skies, and following seas. Bravo-Zulu for the excellent work done, and to Commander Tuttoh, the officers and the men and women of Naval Forces Western Mindanao welcome you as the new Commanding Officer of the 1st Boat Attack Division. Welcome to NFWM's Fleet-Marine Team as the 1st Boat Attack Division Commanding Officer," Miraflor said during his speech during the ceremony.
Lozañes is a member of the Philippine Military Academy "Banyuhay" Class of 2002, while Tuttoh is a member of the Naval Officer Candidate Course Class-1.
The NFWM is confident that Tuttoh will continue to lead the 1st BAD to accomplish all assigned tasks in support of the command's mission. (SunStar Zamboanga)
