TWO people were arrested while more than P80,000 worth of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) seized in separate anti-drug operation in Zamboanga del Norte province, the police said Thursday, March 12.
Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspects as James Pumikpik, 24, a drug watch listed personality, and Jonathan Cañete, 35.
Galvez said Pumikpik was arrested in possession of some P40,000 worth of suspected shabu in a drug bust around 12:20 a.m. Thursday at Purok 8 in Biasong Village, Dipolog City, the capital of Zamboanga del Norte.
She said seized from Pumikpik was P500 marked money.
Galvez said Cañete was arrested in a drug bust operation at 9:40 p.m. Wednesday at Purok San Roque in Sicayab Village, Dipolog City.
She said recovered from Cañete were some P40,800 worth of suspected shabu, P500 marked money, a cellular phone and a motorcycle.
Appropriate charges are set to be filed against the suspects who were detained, she added. (SunStar Zamboanga)
