4 Abu Sayyaf bandits surrender in Basilan

FOUR Abu Sayyaf bandits have surrendered amid the government offensive against them in the province of Basilan, the police reported Monday, July 18, 2022.

The Area Police Command-Western Mindanao (APC-WM) identified the ASG surrenderers as the following: Muhammad Salihm alais Abu Jafar, 23; Bong Majinti alias Abu Sambon, 23; Ardin Moreno alias Abu Kain, 27; and, Hadjibun Hambali alias Abu Aksad, 27.

The APC-WM said they surrendered to the soldiers of the Army’s 18th Infantry Battalion (IB) on Saturday, July 16, in Campo Uno villge, Lamitan City, Basilan.

The APC-WM said that the four Abu Sayyaf surrenderers were all followers of slain Basilan-Based bandit leader Furuji Indama.

Indama was killed in a clash with military forces on September 9, 2020 in the coastal town of R.T Lim, Zamboanga Sibugay.

The Abu Sayyaf bandits have surrendered because they wanted to live a peaceful life together with their families. (SunStar Zamboanga)
