4 fugitives arrested in police operations

THE police have arrested four people, including two most wanted persons, in separate law enforcement operations in Zamboanga Peninsula, an official said Wednesday, July 4, 2018.

Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified them as the following: Sayden Antong, 35; Michael Maagda, 30; Esmael Halid; and Reynaldo Amorin, 36.

Galvez said that Antong is the number three most wanted person in Malangas, Zamboanga Sibugay while Maagda is also the number three most wanted person in Lapuyan, Zamboanga del Sur.

The police officer said on Monday, Antong was arrested around 2 p.m. in Sinusayan village, Malangas, Zamboanga Sibugay while Maagda was arrested around 7 p.m. in Venus village, Sergio Osmeña, Zamboanga del Norte.

Galvez said that Antong has standing warrant of arrest for the crime of robbery with homicide with no bail recommended issued by the court of Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur.

She said Maagda has standing warrant of arrest for the crime of murder with no bail recommended issued by the court of San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur.

The police officer said Halid, who has standing warrant of arrest for qualified theft and malicious mischief, was arrested around 11:30 p.m. Monday in Dinas village, Zamboanga del Sur.

Recovered from Halid’s possession was a caliber .45 pistol with six rounds of live ammunition.

Galvez said the accused was allegedly involved in kidnapping incidents in previous years.

Amorin was arrested around 11:50 a.m. Tuesday in the village of Katipunan, R.T. Lim, Zamboanga Sibugay.

Galvez said the suspect has standing warrant of arrest for attempted murder with P120,000 recommended bail issued by the court of Ipil, Zamboanga Sibugay. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
