Bus terminal marks revenue hike

THE Integrated Bus Terminal (IBT) of Zamboanga City Government, located in Divisoria Village, has registered a remarkable increase in revenues generated from parking services for six straight months.

IBT supervising transportation regulation officer Rafael Derick Evangelista III said the IBT with the support and cooperation of the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) “has continued its streak in terms of increasing the income generated from the parking area at the arrival section” from June to November 2019.

Evangelista said the parking area is utilized by taxi units as well as private vehicles.

Evangelista said compared to collections during the same period in 2018, the increase in IBT parking area collection during the last six months of 2019 is very remarkable – P152,090 or 59 percent increase in June; P172,820 or 95 percent hike in July; P178,370 or 97 percent in August; P159,845 or 99 percent for September; P176,650 or 99 percent in October; and, P166,280 or 103 percent in November.

He said the collections in 2018 were as follows: P95,760 in June; P88,660 in July; P90,585 in August; P80,235 in September; P88,965 in October; and, P81,555 in November. (SunStar Zamboanga)
