Businessman, 2 others die of electrocution

THREE people, including a businessman, died when they were electrocuted in a remote village of Zamboanga del Sur province, the police reported Wednesday, July 31.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said the incident happened at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday, July 30, in Purok 1, Barangay Sugbay Dos, Pitogo, Zamboanga del Sur.

Galvez identified the fatalities as Clint Doydora, 49, businessman; Julito Ratsu, 35, habal-habal driver; and Eliscio Dumunod, 47, laborer.

Galvez said investigation showed that Doydora has hired the services of Ratsu and Dumunod to fixe his electric-powered deep well that conked out. But the three were electrocuted while fixing the deep well.

Galvez said the three were declared dead by the physician of the Rural Health Unit who accompanied the responding policemen to the site of the incident. (SunStar Philippines)
