A BUSINESSMAN was killed while his brother was unscathed in a gun attack in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay, the police reported Wednesday, March 1, 2023.
Police Colonel Eduard Mallo, Zamboanga Sibugay police director, identified the fatality as Roger Wenceslao, 44. Unscathed was Wenceslao’s brother, Reynaldo.
Mallo said the incident happened around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, February 28, in Tigbanuang village, Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay.
He said investigation disclosed that prior to the incident, Wenceslao was together with his brother, Reynaldo, sitting on the balcony of their house when two unidentified suspects aboard on a motorcycle appeared and shot the victim.
Mallo said Wenceslao was hit in the head and died instantaneously while the suspects fled after the incident.
He said recovered from the crime scene was an empty shell of caliber .45 pistol.
Mallo added that investigation continues to determine the motive and the identities of the suspects behind the incident. (SunStar Zamboanga)
