THE officers and personnel of the three provincial police offices have been ordered to religiously perform their mandated tasks to protect and serve the community.

Police Brigadier General Jesus Cambay, Jr., newly installed Police Regional Office (PRO)-Zamboanga Peninsula director, issued the directive during his first command visit in the provincial police offices of Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur and Zamboanga Sibugay from Tuesday, June 16 to Thursday, June 18.

Cambay has directed them to work hard to keep Zamboanga Peninsula a safer place to live, study, work, visit and do business.

Cambay and his party were welcomed on Tuesday by Colonel Ronald Briones, Zamboanga del Norte Police Provincial Office director, when they arrived Tuesday in Camp Hamac in Sicayab village, Dipolog City, the province’s capital.

The next day, Wednesday, Colonel Rhode Espero, Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office director, welcomed them in Camp Abelon that houses the headquarters in Pagadian City, the capital of the province.

On the third day of the command visit, Colonel Ronald Joseph Ocaya, Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office director, welcomed the visiting party upon arrival Thursday at the provincial headquarters in Sanito village, Ipil, the capital of the province.

Cambay was accorded with traditional arrival honors upon his arrival at the respective provincial headquarters.

Police Major Helen Galvez, PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said the field visit of Cambay, as the newly appointed regional director, aims to uplift and boost the morale of the troops on the ground.

Cambay officially took over as the PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula director on June 9 in a turnover ceremony in Camp ColonelRomeo Abendan that houses the regional headquarters in this city.

He replaced Brigadier General Froilan Quidilla, who is set to retire in July from police service. The later was reassigned to Camp Cram that houses the national police headquarters in Quezon City.

Galvez said that Cambay also held command conferences at the police provincial offices where he was given updates on the operational and administrative accomplishments of each command including matters on criminality and peace and order.

Cambay was accompanied in his first command visit by Colonel John Guyguyon, Deputy Regional Director for Operations and other staff of the PRO-Zamboanga Peninsula. (SunStar Zamboanga)
