THE Zamboanga City Government announced that Chavacano music enthusiasts and musicians have until Friday, August 10, to submit demos of their music to be considered for the Hermosa Festival’s Chavacano music competition.
Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said the Original Chavacano Video Music Festival 2018 will have three competition categories for song composition, performance, and music video based on the guidelines of the competition.
Salazar said the competing entries must adhere to the music festival’s theme for this year, “Happy, Upbeat, Feel Good Music.”
The mayor said that a total 15 entries will be accepted for the competition.
She said that only entries whose submissions have complete requirements and comply with the competition guidelines will be considered by the organizers.
Interested participants must submit all requirements, including a demo and lyrics, on or before August 10.
Salazar said that for the song composition competition, a pre-judging will be held on August 17 to determine the finalists eligible for the competition.
She added that entries under this category will be judged for lyrics (content, idea and meaning, language and choice of words) and music (melody and accompaniment). (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
