THE City Government continues to provide financial aid to victims of calamities in Zamboanga City.
Acting Mayor Rommel Agan said Thursday, January 30, that almost P500,000 has been released by the City Government as financial assistance to families displaced by calamities.
Agan distributed the cash aid Wednesday, January 29, to 116 families, 70 of which are victims of flashfloods in the village of Tumaga, 25 fire victims in Boalan, six fire victims in Talon-Talon, and 15 fire victims in Recodo.
He said the grant of cash assistance is part of the City Government's program to help uplift the lives of calamity victims.
It was facilitated by the City Treasurer's Office and City Social Welfare and Development Office, which are tasked to assess and validate the list of beneficiaries. (SunStar Zamboanga)
