Fugitive arrested, bomb-making components seized

JOINT military and police operatives have arrested one of the most wanted persons in the county in a law enforcement operation in Maguindanao del Sur, officials said Wednesday, April 26, 2023.

Major General Alex Rillera, Joint Task Force (JTF)-Central commander, identified the arrested most wanted person as Joel Manampan alias Maula.

Rillera said Manampan was arrested in a law enforcement operation by way of service of warrant of arrest in Sitio Campo Dos, Kilangan village, Pagalungan, Maguindanao del Sur on Sunday, April 23.

He said that Manampan has pending warrant of arrest for the crimes of double murder, gun-for-hire, gun running, extortion, carnapping, and robbery and is listed as one of the most wanted person-national level.

Rillera said seized from Manampan were one MK2 Fragmentary Grenade and bomb-making components.

He said the arrested suspect was placed under the custody of Pagalungan Municipal Police Station.

Lieutenant General Roy Galido, Western Mindanao Command chief, commended the operating troops for the successful operation.

“Rest assured that together with our partners, we will sustain our collaborative efforts to achieve our common goal,” Galido added. (SunStar Zamboanga)
