THE Municipality of Kabasalan in the province of Zamboanga Sibugay has two new members of the Municipal Council.

They are Alfredo Chu and Fely Catane, who took their oath of office on Monday afternoon, June 4, before Zamboanga Sibugay Governor Wilter Yap Palma at the Provincial Capitol.

Palma said Chu, a former mayor, filled in the position left vacant by Councilor Bejamin Palanas, Sr. while Catane, 70, was chosen to replace her husband, Corregidor, who died early this year.

Palma said that Palanas, 78, has replaced Vice Mayor Isagani Balladares, who succeeded Kabasalan Mayor George Cainglet, who died of illness in April, this year.

Palma urged the two new officials to closely work with their colleagues for the betterment of Kabasalan, the oldest municipality in Zamboanga Sibugay province. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
