COLONEL Romeo Racadio, commander of the 2nd Marine Brigade and Joint Task Force Tawi-Tawi, has formally welcomed on Friday, August 20, the Marine Battalion Landing Team-1 (MBLT-1) upon its arrival in Tawi-Tawi after its years of deployment in Sulu.
The traditional arrival ceremony was held at Headquarters Naval Station Jose Magluyan and was graced by Mayor Nurbert Sahali of Panglima Sugala and other officers under Naval Task Group Tawi-Tawi.
Part of the program was the rendering of a completeness report to Racadio by Lieutenant Colonel Marvin Salvan, MBLT-1 commander.
Racadio said that the MBLT-1 troops will be deployed to the different island towns covering the northwestern portion of Tawi-Tawi replacing MBLT-6, which is scheduled to go on retraining program at Marine Barracks, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
Racadio acknowledged the major accomplishments of the MBLT-1 during its previous deployment in Tawi-Tawi since its activation as he formally and officially welcomed them as a new unit under operational control of the 2nd Marine Brigade and Joint Task Force Tawi-Tawi. (SunStar Zamboanga)
