Motor taxi driver nabbed in anti-drug operation

A DRIVER of motorcycle taxi, locally known as “habal-habal”, was arrested in an anti-illegal drug operation in the province of Zamboanga del Norte, the police said Saturday, April 11.

Police Major Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, identified the arrested suspect as Eliezer Alabastro Dywatco, 36, a resident of Punta village, Dipolog City, the capital of Zamboanga del Norte.

Galvez said Dywatco was arrested in a drug bust around 3:15 p.m. Friday at Purok Farmers in Olingan village, Dipolog City.

Confiscated from Dywatco were some P68,000 worth of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or “shabu” packed in 13 heat-sealed plastic sachets and P500 marked money.

She said suspect was placed under the custody of Zamboanga Del Norte Police Provincial Office Drug Enforcement Unit while formal charges are set to be filed against him. (SunStar Zamboanga)
