THE Naval Forces Western Mindanao (NFWM) has promoted 16 reservists enlisted personnel to the next higher rank.
The NFWM said in a statement Tuesday, March 7, 2023, that all of the promoted Reservists Enlisted Personnel belong to the 61st Naval Group Reserve under the supervision of Naval Reserve Center-Western Mindanao (NRCen-WM).
The NRCen-WM is under the operational control of NFWM based at Naval Station Romulo Espaldon in Zamboanga City.
On Sunday, March 5, the NFWM, through the NRCen-WM, held a special event for the “Donning of Ranks” of 16 newly promoted Reservists Enlisted Personnel at NFWM's Officers' Club at Naval Station Romulo Espaldon.
Colonel Jonathan Gabor, NFWM’s deputy commander for marine operations, represented Rear Admiral Donn Anthony Miraflor, NFWM commander, during the ceremony.
In his speech, Gabor congratulated the newly promoted Reservists Enlisted personnel and reminded them that promotions come with more responsibility, sacrifice, and accountability.
“Do not get tired of supporting your unit and serving the country for your efforts combined collectively forms a great part in every success,” Gabor said.
“I am challenging you to always perform with excellence and help yourself to develop your skills which are required and beneficial for you and for your organization” he added.
The Navy Reservists are the Philippine Navy’s force multipliers that will supplement the regular force in the conduct of any mission during peacetime and wartime. (SunStar Zamboanga)
