THE Philippine Navy, through Naval Forces Western Mindanao (NFWM), vowed to continue providing and support the governments’ initiatives to transport locally stranded individuals (LSIs) to different island provinces here in the Western Mindanao.
This, as the NFWM transported on Thursday, June 25, 63 LSIs from this city, via Ensign Majini port of the Naval Station Romulo Espaldon in Calarian village, to Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.
The NFWM said that the LSIs were transported aboard BRP-Manobo (LC297), one of the Philippine Navy’s transport vessels.
Prior embarkation, The NFWM said that all of LSIs were cleared by the local government with the necessary documents and coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) health protocols.
In collaboration with the City Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO), the NFWM was able to provide conducive temporary billeting spaces for the LSIs aboard LC297.
Moreover, partner stakeholders and the 91st Marine Battalion Reserve, through the Naval Reserve Center-Western Mindanao and Civil Military Operations Unit-Western Mindanao, facilitated the handover of dinner packs for the LSIs to include washable face masks and drinking water. (SunStar Zamboanga)
