THE Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom) and the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) agreed to strengthen collaboration in accomplishing their missions.

The agreement to strengthen collaboration was discussed when Police Brigadier General Bernabe Balba, the newly installed PNP-SAF chief, paid a courtesy visit Friday, September 25, to Lieutenant General Corleto Vinluan, Jr., commander of Westmincom.

The visit is purposely to strengthen the partnership between the two organizations in pursuit of peace and development in the region.

“A stronger inter-agency collaboration and coordination promise success in our common vision of serving and securing the people and the state,” Vinluan said.

“Despite all the challenges that our respective organizations face, the PNP-SAF remains resilient and reliable. You can truly count on us,” Balba said.

The two officials are proud members of the Philippine Military Academy “Maringal" Class of 1988. Balba is one of the youngest members of the class.

Before his present assignment, Balba served as the Police Regional Office-Eastern Visayas director.

“Brigadier General Balba is a very hardworking person. I am looking forward to communicating with him more often as he takes over the helm of the PNP-SAF,” Vinluan said. (SunStar Zamboanga)
