A VILLAGE watchman (tanod) was shot and killed by riding-in-tandem gunmen in an east coast village of Zamboanga City, the police reported Monday, May 25.
The Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula said the incident took place around 9:20 a.m. Monday in Lubigan village, east of Zamboanga City.
The police identified the fatality as Din Jamlahun, 50, a village watchman of Talabaan, Zamboanga City.
Investigation showed that Jamlahun was driving his motorcycle from Muti village to Talabaan when shot by one of two men onboard another motorcycle that tailed the victim.
The victim suffered five gunshot wounds that caused his instantaneous death, the police said.
All possible motives are being looked into as investigation continues in a bid to identify the suspects, the police added. (SunStar Zamboanga)
