Soldiers, BARMM employees undergo ICS training

A GROUP of officers and enlisted personnel as well as employees of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) are undergoing a 12-day Incident Command System (ICS) Training Course in Zamboanga City.

The training, which is set to end on November 20, is aimed to capacitate the response team of the newly created government for them to be able to respond properly to emergency and disaster-related incidence.

The conduct of the training is spearheaded by the BARMM’s Ministry of the Interior and Local Government, through the Rapid Emergency Action on Disaster Incidence (READI).

The soldier-participants are officers and enlisted personnel from Joint Task Forces Central, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Zamboanga, and Zampelan; and Western Mindanao Command (Wesmincom) headquarters.

“In today’s changing world, it is even more essential for us to be well informed, trained, and equipped especially when it comes to preparedness measures,” said Lieutenant General Cirilito Sobejana, Wesmincom chief, in his inspiration message.

The ICS is a regulated approach on the command, control, and coordination of emergency response providing a common hierarchy by which responders from multiple agencies can be effective. (SunStar Zamboanga)
