ONE of the three suspects in a robbery with homicide incident that happened more than two months ago in Lamitan City, Basilan was killed in a gun attack on Saturday, July 22, the police reported Sunday, July 23.
Meanwhile, a midwife was wounded after she was hit by stray bullet during the incident on Saturday, July 22, along the highway of Limo-ok village, Lamitan City, Basilan.
Slain in the gun attack was Hadi Harun alias Tereh-Tereh, a resident of Tabla Usew village, Tuburan, Basilan, according to Police Lieutenant Colonel Arlan Delumpines, Lamitan City police chief.
Wounded was Annie Lee Tocmohan, 36, a midwife and a resident of Maloong San Jose village, Lamitan city. She was hospitalized and in stable condition.
Delumpines said that prior to the incident, Harun was driving his motorcycle while having a conversation with the suspect who was also driving motorcycle alongside the victim.
Investigation showed that the suspect pulled a handgun and shot the victim while they were driving and in the midst of their conversation.
Harun managed to pull his handgun, a caliber .45 pistol, and indiscriminately opened fire hitting Tocmohan but missed his target, the suspect.
Investigation further showed that the suspect alighted from his motorcycle, approached and finished off Harun by shooting in the head after the victim crashed on the pavement.
The suspect picked up Harun’s caliber .45 pistol and fled from the crime scene.
Recovered from Harun were steel magazine of caliber .45 pistol with seven live ammunition, a cellular phone, inside holster of caliber .45 pistol and a bolo.
Delumpines said Harun was one of the three suspects involved in the April 29 failed robbery with homicide in Malinis village, Lamitan City.
