THE provincial government of Tawi-Tawi acknowledged the efforts of the military to sustain peace in all the islands and islets of the province.

This was relayed to Lieutenant General Roy Galido, commander of the Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom), by Tawi-Tawi Provincial Administrator Mobin Gampal during his courtesy visit to Galido at Camp Don Basilan Navarro in Calarian village, Zamboanga City, on Friday afternoon, February 10.

Gampal said the stability of Tawi-Tawi has encouraged more tourists to visit the province.

Lieutenant Colonel Abdurasad Sirajan, Westmincom information officer, said the two officials met at Galido’s office during the visit of Gampal.

Sirajan said their conversation focused on the transformation of Tawi-Tawi into a tourism spot of the South and future free trade to uplift the living condition of the people not only in the said province but also the entire Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Barmm).

“They also talked about the notable economic development in the province in recent years,” he said.

Galido told Gampal that Westmincom will remain true to its commitment to serve and protect the people in its area of operation and will continue to aid in the economic development of all the provinces in its area of operation.

Aside from Galido and Sirajan, the other officers who welcomed Gampal during his visit were Colonel Elmer Suderio, chief of Unified Command Staff; Colonel Yasser Bara, the assistant chief of Unified Command Staff for Intelligence; and, Colonel Wendell Basat, assistant chief of Unified Command Staff for Civil-Military Operations.
