US donates P6-M anti-terror equipment to ZCPO

THE Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO) received a P6 million worth of anti-terrorism equipment donated by the United States’ Department of State.

The donated equipment include bomb suits, bomb X-ray machines, explosive identification equipment, robot and Explosive Ordnance bag tactical kits.

The donation forms part of the Anti-Terrorism Assistance Program of the US State Department to the ZCPO.

Police Colonel Alexander Lorenzo, ZCPO director, and Police Captain Ferdinand Galang of the Regional Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Unit-9, presented the equipment to Mayor John Dalipe after the flag ceremony Monday, April 24, 2023, in front of City Hall.

Dalipe thanked the U.S. government, as he expressed confidence that the new equipment will beef up counter-terrorism capabilities of the EOD team of the local police and ultimately help further improve security in the city. (SunStar Zamboanga)
