A VILLAGE councilor of Tagasilay in Zamboanga City was unharmed when an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded in front of his residence on New Year’s Day, January 1.
The IED exploded at 2:50 a.m. on January 1 and damaged the porch in the residence of Henry Gregorio, a councilor of Tagasilay, located 61.65 kilometers from the city center.
Chief Inspector Helen Galvez, Police Regional Office Zamboanga Peninsula information officer, said investigation is ongoing.
Police have neither identified the culprit nor determined the motive of the bombing incident.
Galvez said that a week ago, an unidentified person driving a motorcycle went to the residence of Gregorio and asked for the identity of the official.
The unidentified person sped off after confirming Gregorio’s identity. (SunStar Philippines)
