Zamboanga City vet resumes anti-rabies vax campaign

THE Office of the City Veterinarian (OCVet) has resumed its Oplan Alis Rabies vaccination campaign in Zamboanga City.

Dr. Mario Arriola, OCVet chief,on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, said the resumption of the vaccination campaign kicked off in Tulungatung village on Tuesday, June 20, with the arrival of fresh stocks of vaccines.

Arriola said a total of 411 cats and dogs or 50 percent of the target population of 822 with 243 clients were served during the anti-rabies campaign in Tulungatung.

Arriola said that of the total number vaccinated, 315 were dogs and 96 were cats.

On Wednesday, June 21, the OCVet team went to San Roque village with 15 centers operating as vaccination sites.

Arriola said the activity started from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

On Thursday, June 22, the campaign will be conducted in Santa Maria village.

Pet owners are encouraged to coordinate with the village council. (SunStar Zamboanga)
