Zamboanga hospital has new chief

DR. EMILIA Monicimpo, Department of Health (DOH) regional director, has assumed, in concurrent capacity, as chief of hospital of the government-run Zamboanga City Medical Center (ZCMC).

Monicimpo assumed as the ZCMC chief after Dr. Nida Tan retired from government service on Sunday, April 12. The latter served as ZCMC chief of hospital for almost two years since June 1, 2018.

Monicimpo said she has already requested Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque III to immediately appoint a new ZCMC chief of hospital.

The outpatient department of ZCMC has currently been converted into a referral center of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) amid the health crisis.

The ZCMC is a DOH-retained hospital with 800-bed capacity and serves as the main referral hospital in Zamboanga Peninsula to include the provinces of Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi, which are part of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Barmm). (SunStar Zamboanga)
