Zamboanga mayor urges councilors to work with unity

ZAMBOANGA City Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar has called on members of the City Council to unite for the good of the people.

“We need to unite for the city and its people to progress,” Salazar said in her speech at the maiden session of the City Council Tuesday citing “the people of Zamboanga chose us” to lead the city.

Salazar said nothing will be impossible to make Zamboanga City progress when they will work together beyond party lines, personal ambitions and interests although the tasks and challenges ahead are tough and plenty.

Salazar said that security remains the top priority of her administration.

She said her administration will push through with the completion of the Command and Data Center in the village of Cabatangan after the installation of surveillance system with more than a hundred closed-circuit television cameras in strategic areas in the city.

She said the support of the city to the police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology and Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office will continue. (SunStar Philippines)
