THE national government shipped relief goods to Zamboanga Sibugay and Zamboanga del Sur provinces amid coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.

The relief goods were temporarily stored at the Permex Canning Factory Warehouse in Talisayan village, Zamboanga City and were transported Saturday, April 25, by the Western Mindanao Command (Westmincom).

Each relief pack contains three kilos rice, noodles, and canned goods.

Lieutenant General Cirilito Sobejana, Westmincom commander, said four KM450 vehicles transported the 1,300 relief packs to Zamboanga Sibugay and Zamboanga del Sur.

Sobejana said that 500 of the 1,300 relief packs are intended for Zamboanga Sibugay province while the remaining 800 for Zamboanga del Sur.

“This is our own little way of supporting our national government in this time of crisis,” Sobejana said.

“We are always ready to provide assistance to other agencies of the government especially if it is for the good of the people,” Sobejana added.

The relief goods are for the poor families whose income were affected by the implementation of community quarantine due to the Covid-19 crisis. (SunStar Zamboanga)
