Police Colonel Robert Daculan, Lanao del Sur police director, identified the arrested suspect as alias Kadir, 64, a resident of Dilausan village, Poona Bayabao, Lanao del Sur.

Daculan said Kadir was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 10 a.m. Saturday, May 31, in Marawi Poblacion village, Marawi City, Lanao del Sur.

Seized from Kadir were one kilogram of suspected shabu worth P6.8 million, a bundle of boodle money topped with one genuine P1,000 marked money, and two identification cards.

The suspect was brought to the Marawi City Police Office along with the confiscated pieces of evidence, and charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against him.

The anti-drug operation was launched by the operatives of the different police units in Lanao del Sur following series of surveillance on the illegal drug trade activity of the suspect.

Police Brigadier General Romeo Macapaz, Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region director, said the arrest of Kadir marked a significant blow to the illegal drug trade in the region, reinforcing the government’s ongoing campaign against narcotics. (SunStar Zamboanga)
