OPERATIVES of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) have arrested four individuals as they dismantled a drug den in an anti-drug operation in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (Barmm), an official said Saturday, August 2.
Aside from illegal drugs, the PDEA operatives have also seized a firearm with ammunition during the anti-drug operation.
Gil Cesario Castro, PDEA-Barmmdirector, identified the arrested suspects through their aliases as follows: Boyet, 54, drug den maintainer; Obet, 51; Jepoy, 30; and, Roger, 44.
Castro said the suspects were arrested when they dismantled a drug den on Friday, August 1, in Purok 2, Manila Group village, Wao, Lanao del Sur.
Castro said seized from the dismantled drug den were some 14 grams of suspected shabu packed in 19 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets worth P95,000, buy-bust money, various drug paraphernalia, two mobile phones, an identification card, and a caliber .22 revolver with live ammunition.
He said the suspects were detained while charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), and Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunition will be filed against them.
He said they remain steadfast in their mandate to curb the proliferation of illegal drugs and bring drug offenders to justice.
The anti-drug operation was launched by PDEA-Barmm operatives with the support of the police from Wao Municipal Police Station. (SunStar Zamboanga)
