

LAWMEN have arrested two individuals and seized some P6.8 million worth of illegal drugs in a law enforcement operation in Maguindanao del Norte, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said Monday, August 11.
THE PDEA-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-Barmm) did not release the identities of the two arrested suspects pending further investigation into the extent of their illegal drug trade operations.
The PDEA-Barmm said the two suspects were arrested in a buy-bust operation on Monday, August 11, in Parang, Maguindanao del Norte.
Seized from the two suspects were a kilogram of suspected shabu packed in 20 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets worth P6.8 million, buy-bust money, and illegal drug paraphernalia.
The suspects were detained and will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The PDEA-Barmm operatives launched the anti-drug operation in coordination with the police forces in Parang, Maguindanao del Norte.
Police Brigadier General Jaysen De Guzman, Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) director, commended the police and PDEA operatives for the successful anti-drug operation.
He said it is part of PRO-BAR's ongoing efforts to curb the spread of illegal drugs in Barmm. (SunStar Zamboanga)
