LAWMEN have arrested a known drug suspect and seized some P2.04 million worth of illegal drugs in an operation in Maguindanao del Norte, the police said Saturday, August 2, 2025.
The Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) did not release the identity of the arrested suspect except to say he is a resident of Talitay, Maguindanao del Norte.
Police Brigadier General Jaysen De Guzman, PRO-BAR director, said the suspect was arrested in a buy-bust operation around 3:45 p.m. Friday, August 1, in Sitio Lumpong, Dalican Poblacion village, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte.
De Guzman said seized from the suspect’s possession were some 300 grams of suspected shabu packed in six heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets worth P2.04 million, and buy-bust money.
“The suspect was arrested after selling six heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets containing a crystalline substance believed to be shabu to a poseur buyer,” De Guzman said in a statement.
He said the confiscated pieces of evidence as well as the arrested suspect were brought to Datu Odin Sinsuat Municipal Police Station for documentation before laboratory examination and disposition.
The anti-drug operation was launched following surveillance on the illegal drug trade activity of the suspect.
De Guzman assured the continuation of the aggressive conduct of anti-illegal drug operations targeting high-value individuals and street-level players involved in the drug trade. (SunStar Zamboanga)
